apud Senecam, Ep. 19. est in proba et bonae notae moneta solvere. Latini enim nummum probum et asperum vocant, pecuniam probe et exprese signatam, quam Graeci ἀργόριον δόκιμον et ἐπίσημον dicunt. Quemadmodum contra nummos, qui asperi non essent, sed aut usu detriti, aut male a principio signati, ἀσήμους appellant.
